Yard Sales are in season!I'm seriously so fucking excited to go to yard sales the rest of this spring and this summer. Yard Sales are one of my favorite things about spring saturdays, because there are bound to be a ton of them advertised with little home made signs on street corners. You barely even have to look for them, because they are everywhere! Also, yard sales are so much fun to browse cause you never know what you might find.I know when I go to a yard sale, one of the first things I go to is the cassette tapes. You know, whenever anyone has a yard sale, they try to sell all of their old cassettes and records? Well, I'm a person who buys those cassettes. It all started when I was about eleven. I bought a whole shoebox full of cassette tapes for only two dollars, and I bought the box without looking in it. Turns out I got the Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack to "The Graduate", the Grease soundtrack, and a couple of classical tapes and one of lullabies for babies, along with a ton of other music that I had never heard of. After I bought that box, I holed myself in my room with an old boombox and listened to all of the music I hadn't heard of. Seals and Crofts, Elton John, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Chicago. And me at age 11 was enchanted by these ancient "tapes", worthless to most but precious to me.
The most exciting thing about Yard Sales is finding treasures that don't exist until they catch your eye. And the hardest thing is choosing which treasures to take home. You try choosing between an old Michael Jackson LP and a ceramic owl with wide glass eyes. I dare you. It's much harder than it looks.
Speaking of treasures, this song, Daylight, by Villa Nah, is a treasure that I found on the internet one day. Listen.
