tomorrow night a group of friends and i are participating in Relay For Life. Relay For Life is an amazing event whose purpose is to raise awareness and money for people who are suffering and have suffered from cancer. It is an event in which people form teams to raise money and on the day of the event you walk around a designated track with your team, with different laps symbolizing different stages in the fight against cancer. im not sure how the event works exactly, but it is from seven tomorrow night to seven in the morning on saturday. im pretty sure we are going to sleep in tents (if we sleep at all...)
but our team has raised over two thousand dollars for cancer and we are extremely proud of ourselves and are excited that we could be a part of the cure.
this song, caves, by Jack's Mannequin, is a documentation of the lead singer's fight with leukemia. it is a phenomenal song; it evokes so much emotion, and i began to tear up the first time i heard it. i love the piano in this song.. k so listenn
